# Connect theStacc to Claude Code

> Add the hosted theStacc MCP server to Claude Code with one command, then sign in from /mcp.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add the server">
    In your terminal:

    ```bash theme={null}
    claude mcp add --transport http thestacc https://mcp.thestacc.com/mcp
    ```

    To use theStacc in every folder, not just the current one, add `--scope user`:

    ```bash theme={null}
    claude mcp add --transport http --scope user thestacc https://mcp.thestacc.com/mcp
    ```
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Start Claude Code, type `/mcp`, choose **thestacc** and pick **Authenticate**. Your browser opens theStacc: log in, pick the project and permissions, and click **Approve**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Try it">
    Ask *"Use thestacc to review my content plan"*. The guided workflows appear as slash commands, for example `/mcp__thestacc__weekly_content_review`.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Check the connection

```bash theme={null}
claude mcp list
```

`thestacc` shows **connected**. If it says **needs authentication**, run `/mcp` again and sign in.

## Troubleshooting

* **"Sign in again" or 401 errors:** the connection was revoked in theStacc. Run `/mcp`, choose thestacc, and authenticate again.
* **A tool you expect is missing:** ask *"call get\_permissions"*. It lists what this connection may do; grant more by reconnecting and ticking it.
* **Remove it:** `claude mcp remove thestacc`.
