Live SEO scoring · included with Blog SEO

Know your SEO content score before you publish.

Review an internal score from 0 to 100, a category breakdown and suggestions before publishing a Blog SEO draft. Use the checks to find structural gaps, then assess the writing, sources and business details yourself.

How the SEO score is calculated

Mechanical checks and an AI semantic assessment measure different aspects of a draft. The weights below are theStacc’s rubric, not Google ranking-factor weights.

Overall score round(0.4 × mechanics + 0.6 × semantic)

Illustrative inputs: mechanics 66 and semantic 84 give a rounded headline of 77. If the semantic score is missing or non-positive, the headline uses mechanics alone.

  • Mechanics, 40%Rules-based checks on the finished page, across the nine categories on the right.
  • Semantic, 60%An AI assessment of topic coverage, search intent and helpfulness. It is not independent verification of the draft.
  • Penalty, up to minus 15Internal flags for repetitive phrasing, keyword repetition and other patterns to inspect in context.
Mechanics · 100 points
  • 25 Topic coverageText signals such as vocabulary variety and coverage of heading topics.
  • 15 Content depthInternal length, paragraph and subheading preferences.
  • 15 Search intentStructural checks against the selected blog type.
  • 10 Keyword placementTarget terms in the title, page heading and URL slug.
  • 10 Heading structureHeading hierarchy and section spacing.
  • 10 LinksLink quantities and descriptive anchor text.
  • 5 ReadabilityEnglish reading-ease and sentence-length checks, with a language-detection exception.
  • 5 Images and mediaImage quantity and alt-text presence.
  • 5 Technical metaTitle and meta-description length checks.

What is a good SEO score?

theStacc labels 80 to 89 Good and 90 or above Excellent. Treat these as summaries of the internal assessment. They do not establish that a post outperforms search results or is approved to publish.

  • 90+ Excellent Highest product band. Still review claims and audience fit.
  • 80–89 Good A useful review signal, not publication approval.
  • 70–79 Needs work Read the suggestions and address relevant gaps.
  • 60–69 Poor Inspect which checks lowered the score.
  • <60 Critical Review the draft and decide what needs rewriting.

Review the draft against the reader’s task

The product’s intent check looks for format signals. Your editorial review should go further: decide whether the article actually helps the reader complete the task. These are review questions, not minimum section counts.

  • How-toCan the reader follow the process and recognize when it is complete?
  • ListicleDo the items add distinct information rather than repeat the same point?
  • ComparisonCan the reader compare meaningful criteria and tradeoffs?
  • Ultimate guideDoes the coverage answer the topic without unnecessary sections?
  • Beginner’s guideAre unfamiliar terms explained before the reader needs them?
  • Case studyAre the problem, action and outcome supported by actual records?

Choose the review mode that fits the content. Scoring is separate from approval. For claims that need business or subject-matter review, use the documented publishing controls and confirm the draft’s status before it goes live.

What still needs editorial review

A passing structural check does not tell you whether a source supports a claim. Keep these checks separate from the score.

Before you approve a draft
Review taskWhat to confirm
Facts and sourcesOpen the cited source and check that it supports the actual claim. Use the AI content fact-checking workflow for a claim-by-claim review.
Audience and scopeCheck that the explanation answers the intended question without unrelated sections or invented examples presented as real.
PublicationConfirm the intended site, publishing mode and any required approval. A high score does not grant permission to publish.

Google’s people-first content guidance emphasizes usefulness and reliable information. It does not prescribe a preferred word count. Add headings, links and images when they help the reader, rather than solely to increase a score.

Questions

What is a good SEO content score?

In theStacc, 80 to 89 is labeled Good and 90 or above is Excellent. These are product bands. They do not prove that an article is accurate, approved for publication or better than the pages currently ranking.

How is the SEO score calculated?

When a semantic assessment is available, the headline rounds a blend of 40% mechanical checks and 60% AI semantic assessment. The mechanical rubric has nine positive categories totaling 100 points, plus a penalty of up to 15 points. If the semantic score is missing or non-positive, the headline uses mechanics alone.

What changes when I recalculate after editing?

Recalculation runs the mechanical checks on the edited content and combines the result with any stored semantic assessment. It does not run a new AI semantic assessment. Re-read substantially changed sections and verify any added claims separately.

Does a high score guarantee rankings?

No. The score is theStacc’s internal assessment of a draft, not a Google score or a forecast of rankings, traffic or AI citations. A source check and a publication decision are separate tasks.

Does it assess writing in other languages?

Text in some scripts recognized by the detector can skip the English readability checks. Latin-script languages can still receive the English checks. Skipped checks receive full credit, which does not establish a fluent review of the language or certify its grammar and clarity.
