Trials Explained
How theStacc trials work: the $1 trial per module, what is included, how many days you get, what happens when a trial ends, and how to upgrade or cancel.
Every theStacc module comes with a low-cost trial so you can see real output before you commit to a paid plan. This article explains exactly how trials work - what you pay, what you get, how long they last, and what happens when one ends.
The $1 trial#
Each module - Content SEO, Local SEO, and Social Media - has its own trial that starts at $1. You pay a single dollar to unlock the module and start generating content right away.
During a trial you get:
- Full feature access - the trial is not a stripped-down version. You can use the module exactly as a paying customer would, so the work you create during the trial is real, usable output.
- Days remaining on your dashboard - your dashboard and the Settings > Billing page show how many days are left in your trial, and you will see a reminder as the end date approaches.
Because each module is billed separately, you can trial one module, two, or all three - you only ever pay for what you start.
How long a trial lasts#
The standard trial runs for 3 days. The countdown starts the moment your trial begins, and the exact end date is shown on your billing page.
You get one trial per module. Once a module's trial has been used, that module will not offer another $1 trial - if you want to keep using it after the trial, you move to a paid plan. (Trials are per module, so trialing Content SEO does not use up your Local SEO or Social trial.)
Choosing your paid plan at checkout#
When you start a trial, you pick the paid plan you want to continue on at checkout. That choice is what the trial converts into:
- Open the module and choose to start or upgrade.
- Select the plan tier and billing cycle (monthly or annual) you want.
- Complete checkout for $1.
While the trial is running, your subscription status shows as Trialing on the billing page. When the trial converts, that same subscription becomes Active on the plan you chose - there is no second checkout to complete and no gap in access.
Subscription status during and after a trial#
Your module subscription can be in one of these states:
- Trialing - your trial is active and you have full access.
- Active - your paid plan is running.
- Past Due - a payment failed and needs attention.
- Cancelled - the subscription has been cancelled (access continues until the end of the current period).
You can see the status of every module under Settings > Billing.
What happens when a trial ends#
A trial is the first cycle of a subscription, so what happens next depends on whether you let it convert or you cancel.
If you do nothing#
The trial converts to the paid plan you selected at checkout, and your subscription moves from Trialing to Active. Your dashboard continues working without interruption and your content keeps generating on schedule.
If billing does not go through#
If the subscription cannot continue - for example a payment cannot be collected - the module subscription stops and access to that module is switched off. Anything you have already published stays exactly where it is; theStacc never removes published content.
Cancelling before (or after) you are charged#
You can cancel any module at any time. Cancellation is handled in the secure billing portal:
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- Choose the module you want to cancel and select the option to cancel the plan.
- You are taken to the billing portal (provided by our payment processor, Dodo Payments) in a new tab.
- Confirm the cancellation there.
When you cancel, your access continues until the end of the current period - you are not cut off the instant you click cancel. There is no contract and no cancellation fee.
You can also use the billing portal to update your payment method, view your payment history, and download invoices.
Local SEO trial specifics#
The Local SEO trial follows the same $1, 3-day structure, with these module limits while you are on the trial:
- 1 location - you can connect and optimize one Google Business Profile location.
- 3 local posts - you can generate up to 3 posts for that location during the trial.
To keep going past the trial - or to add more locations and posts - move to a paid Local SEO plan. For the full list of paid limits, see the Local SEO Overview.
Social Media trial specifics#
The Social Media trial is also a $1, 3-day trial, with these limits:
- 3 posts - you can generate up to 3 social posts during the trial.
- 3 connected platforms - you can connect up to 3 social platforms.
Paid Social plans raise both the monthly post quota and the number of platforms you can connect. See the Social Media Overview for details.
Admin-granted trials#
In some cases - for example a guided demo or a special arrangement with our team - theStacc may grant access directly instead of through the standard $1 checkout. An admin-granted plan can be set up without an expiry date, so it does not count down or end like a normal 3-day trial. If your access was set up this way, your billing page reflects the access you were granted rather than a self-serve trial countdown. If you have questions about an access grant, contact our team.
