She has decided this is the year, and she has a lower back that has been bad since her second child. She searches “personal trainer near me”, taps three results, and looks for someone who sounds like they have worked with a body like hers, plus reviews from people who kept going. You have trained a dozen clients through exactly that. It is not written anywhere she can find it.
You know you should be putting yourself out there. But you started at six with a client, you have a gap at eleven you spent on admin, and you finish at eight. Marketing is what you do on Sunday night when you are tired, which means it happens for two weeks and then stops for four months.
So she books the trainer who turns up on Google, and she trains with him twice a week for a year. That is not one session lost. That is roughly six thousand dollars, a slot in your week that stayed empty, and the two friends she would have sent you.
And when a client of yours moves away or has a baby, there is nothing coming in behind them, because nothing has been running while you were busy training.
